Askania began in 1871 when Carl Bamberg, inventor and son of the famous clockmaker Carl Zeiss opened up shop in Berlin. Bamberg’s specialty fell in precision timepieces for observatories, navel vessels and officers as well as adventurers and expedition equipment. Today, Askania is still a Berlin staple and holds many events for its local community.
