Today we’ll look at six more one-of-a-kind timepieces, each with an unusual twist guaranteed to attract bidders to the biennial Only Watch charity auction, this year slated for November 11 at Christie’s in Geneva.

The Magicafiore de Christophe Claret features a blossom with a blue enameled center, a pistil topped by a blue sapphire, stamens represented by 28 emeralds and two hand-engraved dragonflies to indicate the time. The white gold case is adorned with 59 blue sapphires and 15 marquise-cut emeralds symbolizing the leaves of a cherry tree. One press of the pusher at 2 o’clock makes the Arabic numerals disappear to reveal the phrase specially created for Only Watch: “Pour l’amour de la vie” (For the love of life). Only Watch auction estimate: $72,000 - $103,000.
The timepiece proposed for Only Watch 2017 will feature a dial imagined by its new owner and handcrafted at the Manufacture. Its steel case will be the Academia design featuring the well-known DeWitt imperial column motif, and inside will be a self-winding DeWitt movement. Only Watch auction estimate: $26,000 - $41,000.
Hautlence has created a unique piece dubbed BALL-e: when the lights go out, it reveals a second face, which is the head of a small robot designed as a protective talisman in the darkness. The timepiece is based on Hautlence’s Pinball model, from the Playground mechanical games collection. Only Watch auction estimate: $24,000 - $39,000.
The HM8 Only Watch created by MB&F with the young artist Cassandra Legendre is based on Horological Machine N°8. This timepiece, in 18-karat white gold and grade 5 titanium, features a special sapphire crystal with a whimsical drawing created by the 15-year old Legendre. Only Watch auction estimate: $83,000 - $103,000.
The Joker features a two-disk current time display module with the Joker’s eyes as hours and minutes and a moon phase indicator as the Joker's smile. The watch has a 42mm zirconium case and a bright red dial ring with a gray ‘face’ made of ruthenium and silver. Only Watch auction estimate: $11,000 - $16,000.
The S200 Vantablack began with an encounter between MCT and artist Anish Kapoor who wished to star this high-tech material in a watch. Vantablack, initially developed for the military and the aerospace industry, is composed of carbon nanotubes capable of absorbing 99.965 percent of the light they receive. Only Watch auction estimate: $72,000 - $124,000.
