GRAVITYMASTER Takes Off with Carbon Core

(Sponsored post) Designed for the rigors of flight, the G-SHOCK GRAVITYMASTER just got stronger and lighter. By incorporating many of the same carbon and titanium materials found on modern aircraft, G-SHOCK has designed its new GRAVITYMASTER GWRB1000-1A1 to include a new type of full-case protection called Carbon Core Guard.

The new structure integrates the case and back cover into a single carbon unit that protects the timekeeping module from external shock. As a bonus, the protections have made it possible for G-SHOCK to eliminate the familiar guard parts from the buttons on the sides of the case in the new series.

Carbon fiber has ten times the strength of iron at one-fourth its weight, and acquires excellent shock absorption. Titanium is about half the relative density of iron, but rivals steel in strength. With these two materials, G-SHOCK has reduced the weight of the entire GWRB1000 series to 72 grams, making this new model one of lightest GRAVITYMASTER models – all while also maintaining the greatest shock resistance in the series.

G-SHOCK utilizes carbon and titanium throughout the watch. You’ll find carbon material within the bezel and the band, while the buttons, button pipes and other components are built with a titanium alloy.

For the band, carbon fiber of outstanding tensile strength is molded into urethane resin with high cutting / tear resistance.

The layered carbon bezel in particular is designed to maintain flexibility and to absorb shock. This is achieved because G-SHOCK designers have built in a tiny clearance between the case and the bezel.

The result of all this use of cutting-edge materials and functional design is a new generation of G-SHOCK GRAVITYMASTER that is both structurally tough, lightweight, and resistant to rust.

Full featured

Of course, G-SHOCK uses all this technology to protect the GWRB1000-1A1, a full-featured analog timekeeper with a black dial, bold white markers, metallic blue accents and a black carbon case.

Automatic time adjustments can be done using either Bluetooth or an internet time signal. With Multiband 6 technology, radio wave reception is available from six transmission stations worldwide. When utilizing the G-SHOCK Connected app, the wearer has easy access to many of the watch’s functions, including flight log function, world time for over 300 cities and phone finder. Other features include:

• Solar-power

• Auto Hand Home Position Correction

• Hybrid Mount Construction

• Smart Access

• Dual Time

• Stopwatch

• Daily alarm

• LED light (Super Illuminator)

• 200 meters of water resistance

The G-SHOCK GRAVITYMASTER GWRB1000-1A1 is priced at $800 and is available at select jewelers, the G-SHOCK Soho Store and gshock.com.
