Victorinox recently debuted two sporty models that once again underscore the watchmaker’s focus on creating high-value tools. Known for its blades, Victorinox has in recent years re-focused its Swiss Army wristwatch business to better complement its knife offerings in both quality and price.
One of the newest examples of this value parity is the FieldForce Sport Chrono, a handsome 42mm steel quartz chronograph offered with a choice of gunmetal PVD treated steel or polished steel case. Both models offer chronograph, tachymeter, bold Arabic markers and black or grey dial. Multiple styles and colors with rubber straps and stainless steel bracelets are available at swissarmy.com starting at $475.
The second model demonstrating that tool-watch heritage literally includes a pocketknife within its offering. The Victorinox I.N.O.X. Carbon Mechanical is the brand’s first mechanically powered watch in the already impressive I.N.O.X. Carbon line.
Made with a 43mm lightweight carbon composite case housing a Sellita automatic movement (visible through a titanium caseback), the watch comes with a separate bezel ‘bumper’ that displays compass directions.
Housed in shockproof packaging, the watch is part of a set that includes the bumper and a Spartan PS pocketknife. At this price ($1,150) we’re hard-pressed to find a sharper set.
