The entire iW team landed safely in Switzerland on this sunny spring day for BaselWorld 2013 and took off running! First up, was a one on one interview with the Zenith ambassador Felix Baumgartner, who supersonic speeds while jumping from the edge of the atmosphere. Plus, the actual Zenith Stratos Flyback Striking 10 that Baumgartner wore on the mission was on display and still ticking! Watch for the in-depth interview with Baumgartner to learn about the details of the challenges he faced along the way to achieve supersonic speeds.
Then we made our way for the grand entrance into the new halls of BaselWorld, which surely did not fall short of expectations. Hermes unveiled their newly designed booth by famed architect, Toyo Ito and once the red curtain was lifted it revealed an airy and organic design made of 624 wooden slats – simply stunning.
After learning our ways through the halls, Chanel was next on the schedule for a peak at the new white J12 to celebrate their 10th anniversary and it is stunning! The last stop was Corum to check out the new Golden Bridge automatic, the modified case design for the Admirals Cup AC-One 45 and the Ti-Bridge Automatic Dual Winder.
Tomorrow is a new day and be sure to follow all the action at Basel World on twitter ‘@iW_ontheground’!
