“…With the light complication, a new challenge was set: we had to start using our own existing caliber as a complete functional basis. We basically had to add a piece to a puzzle which was already finished,” Vincent Perriard, CEO of HYT.
HYT is known as a watchmaker that focuses on the newest technology, combining fluid mechanics with innovative movements. The HYT H4 Metropolis is based on the same movement architecture as the H1, HYT’s inaugural piece which has been completely skeletonized.
Using the H1 as a basis, HYT ups their game with a timepiece equipped with a light source. Under the rider at 6 o’clock, there are two LEDs. Once activated, they flood the entire dial with blue light. At night, the green fluid is energized by the light source, becoming perfectly visible. The generator is nestled between 4 and 5 o’clock and is activated by the push-piece located opposite on the middle of the case. Illumination lasts for a maximum of five seconds, but no battery is needed for this process.
The ultimate in hybrid technology unites two worlds that are supposedly diametrically opposed. The result is a mechanical wristwatch shattering all certainties and steamrollering conformity. Unveil each glorious technical aspect in detail.
