Nomos Glashütte adds new, richly colored midnight blue dials to its popular Tangente manual-wind watch, available in two sizes (35mm and 38mm). Billed by Nomos as a perfect set for couples, each model conforms to the brand’s minimalist design brief, with a thin case, a spare three-hand dial with small seconds subdial, and thin typography.
Yet despite their similarities, each watch differs by accent hue and strap choice. In addition, each model can be purchased (with a small extra fee) with an optional clear sapphire caseback or with a personalized, engraved solid steel caseback.
On the smaller Tangente Midnight Blue (above), Nomos provides hands and markers with a gold color, while the larger model features these same accents with a silver hue. The 35mm model also arrives with the lighter color beige velour leather strap. In contrast, Tangente 38 Midnight Blue features silver hands and typography, all with a darker velour leather strap.
Both watches are powered by the superb Nomos Alpha manual-wind caliber featuring sunburst polishing on the ratchet wheel, Glashütte ribbing on the three-quarter plate, and perlage on the base plate. Both watches are available with retailers and online now. Prices: $1,900 (35mm with solid caseback) and $2,030 (38mm with solid caseback). Clear sapphire caseback and engraving are each priced separately.
